This book was short and sweet, touching on some very sweet subjects and discussing your full potential as a Child of God. While our religious backgrounds are different - as I could see while reading the book - the overall idea was very much running along any person's beliefs as long as they believe in a God and being created in his image. I enjoyed the little golden nuggets of truth throughout that really struck home for making you think and get in touch with how God must see us. And I enjoyed that the book was uplifting and left you feeling like no matter how you see yourself, you don't have to be so harsh because God loves you and sees you as his child.  It is a good book and worth picking up for a quick read.

A Fire that Heals Review!

"A Lost Faith Is Never Too Far Gone"

Serena is devastated when her lifelong friend, Aminadab, is banned from Zarahemla for abandoning his faith and persecuting the saints. To add to her despair, she loses the rare ruby her father entrusted to her and she feels all is lost.
Unbeknownst to her, Aminadab finds the ruby, and takes it as his only reminder of Serena. As an outcast, Aminadab and his company of dissenters seek refuge among the Lamanites, who happen to be the very people who killed his parents. Not only is his anxiety high for being surrounded by these bloodthirsty people, but he quickly discovers he’s in the middle of a Gadianton plot to start a war between the Nephites and Lamanites.
Selling the ruby soon becomes the only option Aminadab has at escaping the volatile life he finds himself in. However, this act might forever banish him from ever being in Serena’s graces again.

In D Vansen’s Book of Mormon adventure, Aminadab must choose which side he’s on in a reflective journey of self-discovery, while Serena must stay faithful and hold onto the hope that a lost faith is never too far gone.

This book was super enjoyable! Having some background in LDS fiction I was a bit skeptical at first about reading this. I've seen good, I've seen bad, and I've seen .... other. But this one did surprise me by being really enjoyable to read without being super preachy, and the characters were people I could like. I actually wanted to know their story and what happened. The events made for a great story that didn't lag, but were also easy to follow. The descriptions were fantastic, and I could see the jungle camps and the process of the characters through the wilderness and the cities. I was very pleased with it and would read it again. Well done Author D. Vansen, you wrote a very lovely book!

D Vansen lives in Northern Utah with her family. After serving a LDS mission, she developed a love for the Book
of Mormon and its eternal truths. She claims that if you ever want the scriptures and its characters to come to life,
plot a novel from them. She loves all things artistic, unless it involves combining food ingredients. Thank heavens
she has children that will help with that specific talent.

I actually really enjoyed this book. I was listening to it so I got momentarily confused when the first story ended and the second picked up, but as soon as I looked at the book it was easy to see where each story stopped and the new one started. And yet, the beautiful part is that the stories still connect together, piecing together a greater view of everything happening. Each story intertwines into the other and each set of characters has their own unique issues to resolve, love to find, and conflicts to make them grow. I really loved how the author made it all slide into each story, never taking us away and yet letting us see the different situations and Points of View. I would absolutely recommend this book. Not only is it clean and sweet, the stories were captivating and the author has an incredible writing style that allows you to delve into the world she's put together.

Rachel Rossano specializes in clean romantic fiction set in historical-feeling fantasy worlds. She also dabbles in straightforward historical romance and not-so-strict speculative fiction.

Where Shadow's Dwell Tour and Review

"A Fathers Betrayal. A Lover's revenge. One woman, determined to save them both"

For Lily Frost, love is a double edged sword. She craves it, she needs it, but the asking price for love may be her life.
After her mother's apparent suicide, Lily receives a terrible warning: leave California or run the risk of death. Afraid for her life, she flees. Her only hope for safety lies with her father, a man who abandoned her when she was five. But while she searches for him, she discovers love and safety in the arms of James Prescott.
James is a man tormented by his mother's unsolved murder. More than anything he wants to see her killer lifeless, lying in a shallow grave. When Lily enters his life, he realizes that he hasn't been living. Lily shines for him, a light that finally pierces the darkness. For the first time in years, he feels hope. Their relationship blossoms and Lily discovers that she is worthy of love. However, she soon realizes that the safety she craves and the love she's found may be short lived.
The past James carries and the life Lily left behind collide, throwing the couple into the path of the murderer. Secrets long buried come to surface and threaten to destroy everything. Will they face their demons together or will they let the past tear them apart?

I read this book without fully understanding what it was about. I admit it was the cover the mostly intrigued me and I dove in. I was completely captivated from the very beginning! I could not put it down. It was so well written and the characters gave me something to root for. I don't even usually like books like this cause I've got an active imagination and have nightmares - but I adored this book and would easily read it again. It was gripping, thrilling, nerve wracking, sweet, and had it's own story. The only thing I didn't love was that I didn't understand why he didn't just take her directly to the hospital (I won't say more here as I don't want to spoil it). But even so the scene was a sweet one and I think I can appreciate what happened in the scene even though I had a hard time with his decision to not go straight to the emergency room. But even with my questioning the one scene - it did not stop me from thoroughly enjoying the rest of the book and loving every moment as the plot moved forward. Also, the book was clean! Even with death, mayhem, danger, and such, it was not overly gory or graphic. It let the story play out in your head so perfectly that you felt the thrill and fear of the characters, but did not get lost in anything gruesome. She kept the story exactly where it needed to be and I think this author did a fantastic job. I will read this again and I will absolutely recommend it (And I already have).
