Tour and Review for Debbie White's book Finding Mrs Right

What do you do when you’re one of the wealthiest bachelors in New York and can’t seem to find your soul-mate?

Tired of being alone but fed up with being set up by his friends, Gabe decides to take a break from dating when Rose enters his life. Could she be the one he’s been waiting for? But after a heavy blow to Gabe’s ego, he meets Veronica in the park and something about her resonates with him. And then there is Sally, Gabe’s loyal assistant. Gabe never saw her as a romantic partner until…
Rose is beautiful, smart and climbing the career ladder. Having a permanent relationship may not be in the cards for her. Veronica has a secret she’s been carrying for a while and when she decides to let Gabe in on it, it may hurt their chances of a relationship. Sally’s life is complicated and Gabe could complicate it even more.
Will any of these women be the soul-mate Gabe has been waiting for or will they just be another disappointing attempt in his search for finding Mrs. Right?

This book was a cute little search for the right woman. The main character was interesting and hopeful. You could feel for him and laugh, roll your eyes, and even cringe for him as he went through the adventures of the crazy dates he was set up on, and the decisions of trying to determine what he wanted and who fit him and his needs. It was a cute, fun, easy book to read. Clean and sweet too. Great little romance for anyone who enjoys a quick read, the entertainment of watching someone blunder through dating in a search for a perfect fit, and a heart warming story as things come together to help find Mrs. Right.

This book caught my attention from the beginning and held it fast for the entire book. When reading books I can often walk away briefly to take care of things and then return 5-10 minutes later to continue reading, but I could not with this book. I just took it with me everywhere trying to do everything while still reading it cause I didn't want to stop or miss anything. The characters were well rounded and seeing their transformations throughout the story was believable and also very gratifying. Plus, it was funny, had moments that made your heart race with concern, and kept you entirely invested in the journey. The story was continually moving, no dead areas or places that lost my attention, and it was a unique and fun idea. I'm dying to read the next book now that I've finished this one and I have no doubt I will read this one again and recommend it to anyone who enjoy fantasy or magical realism.

This book was different than I expected, but very well written. It was emotional and thought provoking. It put us in situations that really made us wonder, "What would I do for that person" or "how would I proceed when placed in this moment?" It had moments of pleasant joy and of heart breaking grief, anger and humor, and sweet romance sprinkled with doubt and regret but hope for the future. Overall it was an emotional book that gave live to the characters and although the book brings us in with a feeling of being stuck as the character wonders what to do with her life, it left us with a feeling of "the best is yet to come" and a bright future as she works toward knowing herself, her goals, and what matters most - and then reaches for it.

Doorway Back to Forever Tour and Review!

Best friends share everything, right? Unless it’s a secret that could cost them their lives.Robyn and Kit are born with forbidden magic-sense, the power to see and hear beyond Earthly sight and sound. It’s a curse that haunts them, but the girls are strangely drawn to it—could there be more to this power than they’ve been told?

When they spill their secret, it opens a doorway back to Forever—a beautiful realm where magic-sense began. They learn the truth: they have been given a noble gift. It connects them to the Skyborn royalty of this new world. They’ve been summoned back by the forces for good to preserve the kingdom and revive the power where it once flourished—on Earth. It can thrive again, if Robyn and Kit are brave enough to follow
However, the doorway awakens more than magical fairy-tales. A dark force is unleashed—one that has battled the Skyborn since time began, and it wants the girls dead, the Earth destroyed.
Beyond the doorway is where the adventure begins—trickery, kidnapping, a prison break, rescue teams, sword fights, magical gold-dust, holographic medallions, and singing orbs—but only for those who have the courage to believe.

This story was fun, full of ideas that were different and engaging. Loved the idea that magic used to be on earth but is now feared and banned but that the young can still be open to possessing it and using it if they keep their imaginations running. I love that we had time to get to know the characters before jumping into the plot, but the story still moved at a swift pace. There was a lot of symbolism in this book, which surprised me in a good way. And a lot of twists I did not see coming. The adventure was enjoyable, and there were definite moments where I was on edge wanting to know what was going to happen next. It's a good clean read - perfect for middle grade your young adult readers, or really anyone that likes that genre.

Book Tour and Review - The Devil in Hong Kong

On a snowy day in the year 889, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty had an epiphany: he was not immortal. His jade carver created the most beautiful jade burial suit in history, finishing just three weeks before the Han Emperor died. When the priceless two-thousand-year-old jade burial suit suddenly goes missing in modern Hong Kong, a brutal competition to find it ensues between rival Chinese, Burmese, and Japanese factions. As they battle for the priceless artifact, a psychotic killer with a Maori tattoo on his face surfaces leaving a trail of dismembered corpses strung together like traditional Burmese puppets. Detectives Ian Hamilton and Angela Cheung follow a trail of hacked bodies and terror through contemporary Hong Kong in their search for the killer.

David Harris Lang, a current resident of Hong Kong, has lived and worked in Asia much of his life. Besides being a prolific author of Asian-based thrillers, he is an international architect who brings an indelible sense of place’ to his writing as well as a deep understanding of Asian cultures, locales, and customs. I was pleasantly surprised by this book! Before reading it I had heard some things saying it was a bit graphic and cannibalistic and such, so I was super nervous. However, I did not find it to be nearly as bad as I had previously assumed. My imagination of what those terms meant, in regards to this book, was much worse than the book itself. Yes there is death, murder, and some blood, but I did not find it to be gory or graphic. The author did a great job of portraying the situations without going into horror or frightening details, just enough to put you on edge and wonder what is going to happen next, make you worry for the characters, give you a desire to catch the bad guys, and a great eagerness to keep reading. It was very engaging. It took me a moment to get into the flow of changing characters, but the author really did a great job of dividing scenes and following along with all our main characters so it was easy to cheer for each one or shrink away from the bad guys. The characters were well rounded, had very individual personalities, and the book was actually very well written. I know not everyone would be able to handle it, but if you love a great murder mystery, historical fiction, and/or a great combination of both, this book is absolutely for you!
