When George and Bella―a homeless alcoholic and his intimidating German shepherd―disturb the peace outside her studio, yoga instructor Kate Davidson’s Zen-like calm is stretched to the breaking point. Kate tries to get rid of them before Bella scares the yoga pants off her students. Instead, the three form an unlikely friendship.
One night Kate finds George’s body behind her studio. The police dismiss his murder as a drug-related street crime, but she knows George wasn’t a dealer. So Kate starts digging into George’s past while also looking for someone to adopt Bella before she’s sent to the big dog park in the sky. With the murderer nipping at her heels, Kate has to work fast or her next Corpse Pose may be for real.

I love audio books since I'm aloud to take them with me on the go while I run errands, complete a to-do list, and follow up on anything else. This book was easy for me to like in that regard, but even more so when I got into the story. The narrator was great - except that she made the best friend sound whiny and I didn't like that - but I did like the voices of the other characters, the pace of the narrator, and the story itself. Author Tracy Weber did a fantastic job with her story, getting you into the life of the characters and learning to love each one with their quirks and personalities. The story also kept a good pace - no sagging or moments of boredom. I really did enjoy listening to it and I will definitely recommend it as a fun read (Or listen in this case). Great murder mystery, no gore (which I like), and definitely lots of moments of feeling for the characters. Definitely a 5 star book!

Tracy Weber is the author of the award-winning Downward Dog Mysteries series featuring yoga teacher Kate Davidson and her feisty German shepherd, Bella.
