Mini interview with Author:
1: Do you have any advice for other writers?
I always tell aspiring writers the same thing – Take a comprehensive course, preferably one
with a mentor, that takes you through the complete novel writing process. I can’t tell you the
number of times I read a promising writer’s work and it falls down on things like point of
view and structure.
2: Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
I always had an interest in writing, probably the first little book I wrote was at age 6. When I
really got serious about writing, was after several years of book reviewing. It was then I
thought, ‘I can do this’.
3: When did you realize you were an author?
I never really thought much of it, until I had a few different things published, and a woman I
knew from a writing group years ago got in touch and said to me, ‘I see you all over the
internet’. I think that is when it sunk in.

Natalie-Nicole Bates is a book reviewer and author.
Her passions in life include books and hockey along with Victorian and Edwardian era photography and antique poison bottles. Natalie contributes her uncharacteristic love of hockey to being born in Russia.
She currently resides in the UK where she is working on her next book and adding to her collection of 19th century post-mortem photos.
