Mondays about Me
Ok there is one thing that I have not expounded upon yet. And that is that I like to plan and I like to prepare. I like to plan parties and events, I like to prepare for Holidays, and honestly I think being a wedding planner would basically be the greatest job in the world besides being an author. (Even with the bridezillas!)
Anyway, back to planning. One thing I do like to do is plan ahead. For example, I like to see thing that I could use for someones birthday 4 months from now - the perfect gift - and it's on sell now, so I store it. I actually have a couple of craft bins with "Gifts and prizes" written on the side where I've bought stuff I knew certain people would love, or would be great for prizes!
So what's the point of this? Well, while organizing the other day I found more items that I bought to give out as prizes! Yes I did!
Book lamps and small pampering sets, writing swag and metal bookmarks, jewelry and pencil cases, etc.
And I thought, well what's the good of this if I don't actually do a giveaway and well .... give it away!
So I have put rafflecopter below!
(NOTE, IT WAS BEING STUPID SO THE GIVEAWAY DOESN'T START UNTIL TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT BUT IT DOES GO FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK!)
Come enter
Share it with others
and let's invite people to come get to know me on my Mondays about Me posts!
Happy Monday!!

Mother's Day
Mondays About Me
So today, because yesterday was Mother's Day, I am going to share something quite personal.
My mother is amazing! AMAZING!!
She has put all her love and effort into raising her 14 children, and keep us all alive.
Yes that's right, you heard me - 14 children!
She's basically amazing! And her and my Dad are on their 3rd mission for our church. She believes in serving and helping others, she loves unconditionally, and she is always so happy!
On the other side of my family, My husband's mother did a great job of raising an amazing son. She and I didn't always get along, but I still love her.
She has 2 sons and we've made a wonderful little family. But a year ago, My Hubby's Mom passed away. She had cancer and it had progressed to far to stop. She passed away just before Mother's Day, and therefore this holiday is very hard for my husband. But it's getting better.
Anyway I love both my Mom and my Mother-in-law
So here is the very personal secret that isn't as well known:
I have no children. And I may not be able to have children.
Do we want kids, yes! But will I be able to have them? It's not looking good
Now, don't feel bad for me, this is something we have had several years to come to terms with, and I'm surprisingly OK with that. It'll work out how it's supposed to work out.
But, This doesn't mean I don't get the chance to have an influence on children. I get to nurture and care for over 60 nieces and nephews as well as almost 10 great- nieces and nephews.
I am the primary chorister in my church so every week I get to see over 80 children and sing songs with them or play games with them. I love it, I really really love it.
Basically I just want to say that even if I can't have my own children, and even if I never have the chance to be Mom, this doesn't mean I can't be a good influence and help raise other's children. I get to still cuddle with little ones and kiss away hurt. I still get to give healing hugs and watch bright eyes get excited over presents and sweets.
And I know I'm not the only one who struggles with infertility. So for those others out there, just know that you are not alone, and you most certainly shouldn't rob yourself of being a wonderful big sister or aunt to the children around you. They look up to you and you can do so much for them!

Mondays about Me
Well I gave you all a few days break, but I'm back to my Mondays about Me posts now that the April A_Z challenge has finished!
So let me tell you something about me.
6 months ago I could not run (I couldn't have run a mile to save my life). 6 months ago I weighed more than I ever have in my entire life. 6 months ago I could not do 10 push-ups without collapsing. 6 months ago walking to the mailbox was considered exercise because it winded me. 6 months ago, I was kinda lots of pathetic (I am allowed to say this about myself!)
Now ....
I have lost several inches on my waist, hips, and chest. I have lost several pounds. Walking to the mailbox doesn't even count as a warm-up! I do boot-camp workout hardcore 4 times a week. I was taken off gluten at my doctor's suggestion and have seen many health improvements (just to make this clear, I do have a gluten intolerance and when I tried to go back on it I got super sick with migraines) and I feel so much better about knowing my body is healthy!
I took control of myself and my body and made a change!
So on Saturday I did something that might seem simple for some, but for me was a major step forward .... I ran a 5K!
That's right, I ran just over 3 miles!
Here's a look into my wonderful moment of triumph! (these are people from my boot-camp workout group Melanie, Alisa, Leandra, and Miles)
Everything up to here was taken at the beginning of the race, getting warmed up and colored up
Everything after this is at the end - notice how our aren't as energetic ;)
So tell me, how do you stay fit and healthy?
Happy Monday!
