Rachel Rossano lives with her husband and three children in
the northeastern part of the United
States. Homeschooled through high school, she began writing her early teens. She didn’t become serious about pursuing a career as an author until after she had graduated from college and happily married. Then the children came.

Her grip tightened painfully. “Watch your tongue.” Her fingers eased. “Stop playing with the children and mingle with the adults. These men want a wife, not a nursemaid.”
I opened my mouth to argue that the men would want children and a woman who knew how to raise them, but thought better of it. “Yes, mother.”
