Book Tour: Haley's Song by Jennifer Bryce

I was so excited to have a chance to share this book today! Author Jennifer Bryce has been a joy to get to know and when she asked if I would read this book I admit I was hesitant due to time constraints but I gave it a chance - and trust me, it was worth the time! My full review is below!

But before we begin, let's get to know the book and the author!

Book Blurb:

Hayley’s father has a gambling problem that’s now become hers. He lost her in a bet. Now, she must either leave the only place she’s ever known or marry a man who is only interested in a servant he can control.
On the run and scared, she finds sanctuary at a ranch with seven men and one little boy. Though hired as a cook and nanny, she quickly realizes she’s found a home. With brothers, Ben and Tate, vying for her affections, Hayley starts to believe she can have a life that doesn’t involve alcohol, abuse, and gambling. But the winner of the card game has other plans.

Ed Thompson tracks Hayley down, determined she’s going to become his wife. But Tate isn’t about to allow that to happen. He’ll move whatever mountain he has to for Hayley’s safety. And when she’s kidnapped, he’ll tear the town apart to find her. But Ed has an ace up his sleeve that could end up getting Hayley killed.

Now a little peek inside the book:

Snippet #5
A buzz alerted her to a rattler coiled up near the edge of the cotton field. Her lungs seized and she stood still as a statue, only gripping the handle of the shovel tighter. She had a mission to rid the world of the ornery reptiles, one snake at a time. Sure, her heart picked up pace, but she steeled herself. The serpent would give any farmer the shakes — especially Daddy. His shakes added wildness swings with the shovel and he would continue to shake for nearly thirty minutes later after a kill, but it would be hard to tell if the shakes were from the snakes or the booze.
Turning the shovel flat, she readied for a quick attack. If she tried to cut off the head with the blade side of the shovel, she might miss and not have a second chance if it struck back or disappeared back into the bushes.

MY REVIEW:

This was such a sweet book! I absolutely loved it! When Jennifer asked if I would read this book I admit I was hesitant due to time constraints but I gave it a chance - and trust me, it was worth the time! I could not put it down and I was driven to find out what happened. I was immediately drawn in emotionally and could feel for and at times relate to Haley. As Haley goes through her struggles and learns what it means to really have a family - even if they aren't neccissary blood relates - I was rooting for her while feeling nervous about Ed finding her. When he does I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen! This is a clean, sweet, romance that I would recommend to anyone. But even if you think you may not be into romances, it's a good story and not mushy enough to gross you out. Haley can hold her own while still being sweet and I loved her and her story!

About The Author
Jennifer has a brain that is never quiet (even in her sleep), she uses writing as an escape to be and do anything she can create. Plotting is her favorite thing to do in her down time. Raised in southern Arizona, she was influenced by being raised a cop’s daughter (plenty of teenage angst material there), Mexican food, and the old West. She is a busy mother to three rambunctious boys, married to her amazing cowboy, a full-time nursing student, and desperately needs a long vacation. Her biggest fear in life is to be completely mediocre.
