Debbie currently resides in beautiful Sonoma County, California, where the jagged Pacific coastline meets the rolling hills cascading with vineyards.  This book was a cute little search for the right woman. The main character was interesting and hopeful. You could feel for him and laugh, roll your eyes, and even cringe for him as he went through the adventures of the crazy dates he was set up on, and the decisions of trying to determine what he wanted and who fit him and his needs. It was a cute, fun, easy book to read. Clean and sweet too. Great little romance for anyone who enjoys a quick read, the entertainment of watching someone blunder through dating in a search for a perfect fit, and a heart warming story as things come together to help find Mrs. Right.

This book caught my attention from the beginning and held it fast for the entire book. When reading books I can often walk away briefly to take care of things and then return 5-10 minutes later to continue reading, but I could not with this book. I just took it with me everywhere trying to do everything while still reading it cause I didn't want to stop or miss anything. The characters were well rounded and seeing their transformations throughout the story was believable and also very gratifying. Plus, it was funny, had moments that made your heart race with concern, and kept you entirely invested in the journey. The story was continually moving, no dead areas or places that lost my attention, and it was a unique and fun idea. I'm dying to read the next book now that I've finished this one and I have no doubt I will read this one again and recommend it to anyone who enjoy fantasy or magical realism.

This book was different than I expected, but very well written. It was emotional and thought provoking. It put us in situations that really made us wonder, "What would I do for that person" or "how would I proceed when placed in this moment?" It had moments of pleasant joy and of heart breaking grief, anger and humor, and sweet romance sprinkled with doubt and regret but hope for the future. Overall it was an emotional book that gave live to the characters and although the book brings us in with a feeling of being stuck as the character wonders what to do with her life, it left us with a feeling of "the best is yet to come" and a bright future as she works toward knowing herself, her goals, and what matters most - and then reaches for it.

This story was fun, full of ideas that were different and engaging. Loved the idea that magic used to be on earth but is now feared and banned but that the young can still be open to possessing it and using it if they keep their imaginations running. I love that we had time to get to know the characters before jumping into the plot, but the story still moved at a swift pace. There was a lot of symbolism in this book, which surprised me in a good way. And a lot of twists I did not see coming. The adventure was enjoyable, and there were definite moments where I was on edge wanting to know what was going to happen next. It's a good clean read - perfect for middle grade your young adult readers, or really anyone that likes that genre.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book! Before reading it I had heard some things saying it was a bit graphic and cannibalistic and such, so I was super nervous. However, I did not find it to be nearly as bad as I had previously assumed. My imagination of what those terms meant, in regards to this book, was much worse than the book itself. Yes there is death, murder, and some blood, but I did not find it to be gory or graphic. The author did a great job of portraying the situations without going into horror or frightening details, just enough to put you on edge and wonder what is going to happen next, make you worry for the characters, give you a desire to catch the bad guys, and a great eagerness to keep reading. It was very engaging. It took me a moment to get into the flow of changing characters, but the author really did a great job of dividing scenes and following along with all our main characters so it was easy to cheer for each one or shrink away from the bad guys. The characters were well rounded, had very individual personalities, and the book was actually very well written. I know not everyone would be able to handle it, but if you love a great murder mystery, historical fiction, and/or a great combination of both, this book is absolutely for you!
